Silence
Nicholas Sparks has correctly said…
“We sit
silently and watch the world around us. This has taken a lifetime to learn. It
seems only the old are able to sit next to one another and not say anything and
still feel content. The young, brash and impatient, must always break the
silence. It is a waste, for silence is pure. Silence is holy. It draws people
together because only those who are comfortable with each other can sit without
speaking. This is the great paradox.”
Isn’t it true…?
Silence is the best language to convey your
feelings. It is one great art of conversation.
Have you ever seen two mute people ‘talking’ to
each other… yes they do talk… their language is different… no words… only
gestures and still they are so content. One day while travelling I saw such two
people talking to each other. They were totally engrossed. They were into their
own different world… the world of silence.
Even I have experienced that the best time
spent is when you are actually keeping quite and still you understand what
he/she wants to say… just keep quite and still all that you want to say is
conveyed… no single word spoken, not a single alphabet uttered and you are
through. You get the best feeling in this world that you are being understood
even when it is difficult to speak out what you feel…
When you hold someone’s hand, you don’t need to
say that you need that person… it’s the silence which speaks… it’s a sheer
understanding that ‘I need you’…. And then… ‘I’m there for you…’
This
feeling can never be spoken… just felt… because sometimes there aren't words.
The silence between us is as wide as an ocean. But still we can manage to
reach across it, to wrap our arms around.
